Eggs
There’s all sorts of egg analogies which don’t necessarily have anything to do with real eggs. Some examples... hatching plans, when you’re making great & exciting plans for the future... Don’t count your chickens until they’ve hatched, don’t rely on something until it’s really happened. Lastly... you need to crack eggs to make an omelette, you often have to change something to make things great ....heres 3 EHP examples.
Orangutans
First in terms of counting. Our orangutan conservation project in West Kalimantan is in an area of about 6,000 hectares of unplanted land in our Arrtu Energie plantation. It’s home to a population of orangutans & other animals. How do we know how many orangutans there are? We painstakingly find & monitor the nests they build to sleep in (not lay eggs in)). This week our patrol team, Satgas Amour reached their first 1,000 nests, an amazing achievement.
Owls
Then there’s the plans... this story involves actual eggs & actual hatching. Owls can help to control rats in the plantation. Rats eat our fruit. We are therefore restarting our owl program this year. First step was to renovate the owl house ready to receive the chicks. 2nd step is to get rhe chicks. As you can see above, we are now awaiting the real hatching of this plan...
FFA
Third story is about cracking eggs or changing something. High quality oil is not only in higher demand now, it also sells at a premium price. To get high quality oil you need the right plantations which we have & then you need to change the system of processing a bit. We’ve been doing this since November & this week we sold & delivered our first batch of high quality & premium price oil.
Hatch
These are just 3 of the stories of what’s happening in 2020 at EHP. There are many more & we will share them with you as we go through the year. They may sound small, but after a while they all start to add up. It’s a part of our efforts to become as great as possible to get the best possible results for you.
