Jakarta
With all the recent share activity, we decided to introduce new CEO Pak Ramesh to investors in Jakarta over the last 2 weeks. He’s been telling those we meet that he believes EHP is a great asset which can return to fast growth, producing high quality oil with high productivity using techniques like mechanization. Here’s 3 of the main points.
Experience
First, Pak Ramesh has been introducing himself. He is Malaysian & a third generation planter. He started out at the famous Harrison & Crossfields, then IOI, then moved to Indonesia with Asian Agri group, based in Pontianak. He’s worked on 2 projects where yields have almost doubled in a few years.
Assets
He has spent his first few months with EHP visiting all the estates & just finished his tour with Papua a couple of weeks ago. He is very impressed with the plantations & told investors the quality is better than the previous companies he worked for. EHP has good planting materials, good land & good tree density.
Simplify
This means he feels his job is relatively simple & there’s a lot of quick wins which he can implement, like reducing losses in the field & mill, improving the oil quality & reintroducing mechanization. Longer term he plans to change the organization structure to make it more simple & plantation based.
KL
The response has been very positive from investors so far. Several meetings which started with frowns, ended with smiles & warm handshakes. We will continue to introduce Pak Ramesh & his strategies in December, including a visit to investors in KL in the second week of December. It’s great to see the positive responses so far.
