Supply Chain
The supply chain in the palm oil industry is a complex chain as it includes suppliers that range from large-scale plantations such as EHP plantations to local smallholders. At the upstream of the supply chain, Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) are harvested and then taken to a palm oil mill to be processed into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) before going through a refining and further processing.
To ensure responsible business practices, the Company works with its supply chain partners to ensure traceability and transparency of land location in their practices and encourages all the Company’s suppliers to implement sustainable palm oil practices. The Company targets 2035 as the deadline for 100% of our suppliers, including independent smallholders, to comply with our sustainable palm oil sourcing commitment.
Some of the steps taken by the Company to fulfil this commitment include strengthening traceability in the supply chain. EHP currently operates 7 mills that process FFB from its nucleus and plasma plantations, 6 of which also process FFB from external suppliers.
